Teeth Whitening – 1 Hour

Teeth Whitening – San Marcos

Teeth whitening makes you look younger

When it comes to a smile makeover, there is no quicker way to liven up your smile than a 1-Hour teeth whitening performed by a professional. What is the difference between a teeth whitening dentist near you and what you get at the mall or online? Obviously the cost. But the reasons for that are simple. Only a licensed dentist can use the strongest and most effective whitening material for the patient. What you get outside is material that is less effective and thus less costly. Not to mention that the whitening is performed by a high school student, not a dental health care professional.

Brighter, Whiter Smile – Why?

We’ve always wanted a brighter, whiter smile. This holds true from the every-day-Joe to the Hollywood “A-lister.” But why is that? A group of psychologists asked this very question years ago and started conducting research trying to find the reason. And here is what they found in short.

When we first meet someone we form an opinion of that person based on a few key characteristics. We do this almost instantaneously. And it sets the tone as to how we view the other person. A person’s “smile” came up repeatedly as playing a big role in creating this first impression. When further asked what we find pleasing in a smile, a “whiter smile”, “no bad breath” and “straight teeth” were the consistent answers. Funny how “bad breath” makes this list. So teeth whitening is simply a means to an end. In another word, when we meet someone knowing nothing about them, we are likely to form a high (or low) opinion of them based on their smile. This is why we all want brighter teeth from a scientific perspective.

Teeth Whitening – What to Expect

Most people are generally excited about a whiter smile. But all too frequently they are anxious as well and want to know what will happen. So here is the scoop on how your whitening visit will proceed. The entire visit takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. You can save some time by filling out the new patient paperwork before your visit. The doctor will meet with you to go over the details of the procedure and answer your questions. Next, we do a smile analysis to determine the projected shade and discuss other details. After your whitening is completed, we’ll finish up by going over home care instructions with you.

Brighter Smiles – Different Techniques

While in-office teeth whitening is highly effective, it may not be for everyone. That’s why we offer “take-home” whitening kits. First, we make impressions of your teeth to make you some custom-fitting whitening trays. Then we show you how to use the whitening gel with these trays to whiten your teeth from the comfort of your home. This type of whitening needs to be repeated for several hours a day for about 7-10 days. Our dentist will review with you a whitening regimen that will satisfy your goals.
